4/11/2019 · The Canon 100-300mm came in 2 versions. The "L" version is Canon's high performance line and commands quite a high price. The non "L" version is much more common and found at much lower prices. A very good alternative is Tamron's SP 60-300mm. SP is Tamron's high performance product line - Special Performance. You will need an adapter.
9/7/2006 · The ability to reach 300mm is quite important for wildlife photography; that extra 100mm is a big deal. While you can find 70-210 zoom lenses for a dime a dozen, it is hard to find anything cheap in the 300mm range. Thus far, the Tamron 60-300 is the only option I’ve seen sell regularly for under $100.

Tamron 70-300/4-5.6 Di VC USD Lens Review The Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC is a new telephoto zoom that covers a convenient and popular telephoto range. Tamron 70-300mm F4/5.6 DI LD Macro If you need a reasonable longish focal length lens, but money is a problem, this Tamron is well worth a good look. Its basically a middle of the road lens for those who can't afford to spend a lot of money on a pro level zoom.
I use the Sony 100mm F/2.8 macro for my product shots, and I tried the Tamron 60mm for shots of a future review lens, and noticed the sharpness differences right away. Again, if you aren't planning on using really small apertures, like F/11-22, this doesn't matter.
When Tamron introduced the Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 VC a few years ago it really shook things up (Model A011, but hereafter I’ll call it the G1 for simplicity). Priced just over a grand, the G1 offered people the chance to get into wildlife photography without dumping five figures into a supertelephoto prime lens.
12/3/2014 · Tamron is a pioneer in all-in-one, do-everything lenses. The new Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di PZD lens is designed for Canon, Nikon and Sony shooters and I tested the Canon EF version using an EOS 5D Mark I and an EOS 50D, which changes the lens’ angle-of-view to that of a 45-480mm lens.

I buy only from these approved sources. I can't vouch for ads below. This Image-Stabilized Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 is half the price of Canon or Nikon and works great. Feel free to read the rest of this review, but for all practical purposes this lens takes the same pictures as the Canon or Nikon ...
5/28/2005 · Tamron 60-300 is not bad but the Tokina 100-300mm F4 is better (but bulkier, 77mm filter size and more expensive) It is a mather of many criterias, the most important being first : hand-held or not. For that nothing beats my 200 F3.5 since faster neans quite bigger and zoom have to stop down.
12/6/2006 · SP 60-300mm f3.8-5.4 SP 90mm f2.5 I absolutely adore the 38-100mm but rarely use it as it doesn't quite fit in my camera bag. That said, the 60-300mm is nice, too, but really doesn't fit in the bag and is rather prone to barrel creep.
The other item for me is that the zoom ring on the Tamron is the outside ring and focus ring closer to the camera...also opposite to my 24-105 where the zoom ring is closer to the camera. With the zoom ring being closer to the hood on the Tamron, it is difficult to rotate the zoom without the lens hood turned out.

I accidently dropped the lens which now does not work at all.It cost more for Tamron to look at the lens than what the lens was worth. I would recommend looking at the Canon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 which I purcashed from a previous owner for $$$. This lens has 2 modes for IS.
